In Burlington, one family’s indoor pool had all the potential in the world, but the enclosure around it was dated and holding the space back. Instead of a bright, modern retreat, the covered pool felt tired and disconnected from the surrounding backyard. To get it ready for another busy summer, the homeowners brought in Eastview Homes and construction manager Keith Travers to lead a full renovation of the existing structure.
The goal was clear: update the envelope of the covered pool to make it feel more connected, and more comfortable. We were asked to transform the shell of the building itself, and to improve how it looks, how it performs, and how it ties into the house and backyard.

A Spring Project On A Tight Timeline
Timing mattered. With pool season approaching, work had to start in April and wrap by the end of May so the family could enjoy the refreshed space as soon as the weather warmed up. Eastview Homes mapped out a realistic schedule and coordinated all the moving parts—drawings, permits, demolition, structural work, and finishing—so there were no surprises once construction began.
Because this was an existing structure, careful planning upfront was essential. The team needed to modernize the enclosure while working around the pool itself, integrating new openings and finishes without compromising the building’s integrity or the water below.
Full Design–Build Scope From Eastview
Eastview Homes acted as a true design–build partner on this project. Their scope included:
- Preparing architectural and structural drawings for the existing pool enclosure
- Securing the required building permit
- Implementing advanced pool and deck protection before any demolition
- Completing demolition, structural upgrades, and all finishing work
- Managing and coordinating every trade on site
From the homeowner’s perspective, dealing with Keith means one point of contact throughout the project. Eastview handled everything from engineering considerations to the final trim details, making it easier to keep the project mission-focused and on schedule.

Protecting The Pool While Work Happens
Renovating an enclosed pool is not the same as renovating a typical room. Moisture, existing finishes, and the presence of water all add complexity. Before any demolition began, Eastview Homes installed “next level” protection for the pool and surrounding deck, shielding the shell, tile, and mechanical systems from dust, debris, and construction traffic.
With that protection in place, the team was able to safely remove interior elements, adjust framing, and prepare the structure for new windows, doors, and finishes. It’s the kind of work most people will never see, but it’s critical to the long‑term performance of any covered pool space.

Brightening the enclosure
The most visible transformation in this renovation comes from the way the enclosure now interacts with the backyard. The existing structure was re‑worked to accommodate new glazing and openings, creating wide, sliding glass panels that run along the poolside wall. These doors flood the interior with natural light and offer clear views to the patio and gardens beyond.
From inside, swimmers enjoy a brighter, more inviting space that still feels protected from the elements. From outside, the new fenestration gives the rear elevation a cleaner, more contemporary look, helping the covered pool read as an intentional design feature rather than an afterthought.
Interior Design A Clean, Cohesive Look
Upscale finishes helped the enclosure to feel calm, durable, and aligned with the rest of the home. To help the homeowner get there, Eastview Homes curated three interior designers they felt were a strong fit for the project.
The owner selected one of the three, and that designer collaborated with construction manager Keith Travers to finalize colours, materials, and textures inside the pool enclosure. This collaboration ensured that every design decision—from wall treatments to flooring—was compatible with the pool environment and the structural realities of the existing building.
Ready for another ten years of pool time.
By the end of May, the Burlington covered pool had a completely renewed presence. Without changing its core function, Eastview Homes turned an aging enclosure into a brighter, more functional shell that beautifully frames the amenity and connects naturally to the backyard.
The space does exactly what’s needed; the building protects the pool, welcomes light, and makes the whole property feel more refreshed and modern.
